MAGIC ROCKS

The Magic Rocks are activated palm kernel shell charcoal decorative deodorizers. They are based on an innovative technology to activate charcoal, so it attracts particles from the air which it absorbs and neutralizes.

We developed the Magic Rocks from the idea of using palm kernel shell charcoal waste due to its lignocellulose composition and the will to mitigate the abundant waste into valuable and economic material for potential applications

The amorphous activated carbon's physiochemical properties are derived from palm kernel shell, including the elemental composition, vast honeycomb network of pores, high surface areas, and surface functional group. These properties make the materials suitable for heavy gas metal, and pesticide adsorption, and effective deodorizer. (source: science direct) 

We repurpose waste palm kernel shell charcoal, from the process of palm oil extraction in Thailand, creatively which we grind into charcoal powder, fused with calcium, and hand press our proprietary mixture by artisans into molds. The final step is baking in stone kilns at extreme temperatures.  The result is a highly efficient fully organic and uniquely decorative deodorize.

The Chada Magic Rock is the winner of 2019 Thailand ‘s prestigious DE Design excellence Award and Japan’s good design award. The Chada Magic Rock’s designer is Amphan, a renowned and innovative designer from Thailand.
